  The Need  
 

CDS were approached by Daimler Chrysler Asia/Pacific to create an application to manage task allocation and communication between the busy Dealer Development team and it's regional management network.

Replacing the existing labour intensive system involving the production and tracking of detailed PDF/Excel based documents, CDS were able to quickly establish the possibility of utilising existing business infrastructure and technology to reduce labour requirements and increase efficiency by an estimated 60%.

A high importance was placed on retaining the "look and feel" of the documents and reports used by the existing process, whilst also providing a logical flow and of course ease of use.

 
  The How  
 

After liaising with Daimler Chrysler's IT Department it was agreed that the DC Domain Servers would host a MS SQL Server database back end and ASP.NET web application. This environment would enable the application to closely reflect the look and feel requirement, whilst providing a high performance, secure and robust application.

 
  The Application  
 

The dealer development team is now able to assign tasks/actions to their regional managers at the click of a button. Regional managers remotely access the DC Domain to provide regular updates for their assigned tasks, which are immediately available for Dealer Development to review. The progress of all tasks is presented in a colourful interactive "Matrix" report format which easily identifies the various statuses of these vital tasks.

 
  The Outcome  
 

The project was considered a big success by the client and was another example of how CDS can work with you to provide technical solutions that will allow you to spend less time managing and administering information and more time managing your business efficiently.
